Pristine Water Treatment Testimonials

I want to comment on how very efficient the Pristine H20K water cooler cleaner is to maintain the clean water taste of our cooler every 3 months. We were paying to have the cooler cleaned to the tune to $35.00 each service. I now have it done in minutes, fast, easy and no fuss plus a tidy savings.

Good clean water like good music enhance the joy of health!

Back from Bhutan and giving you feedback about Pristine. I thought it was an excellent product. It doesn't make the water taste or smell at all - it was a real pleasure to use. In fact when I got back to Cape Town, I thought our tap water (which is safe to drink) tasted nasty! I also liked the fact that one only has to wait 15 minutes for Pristine to take effect, compared to the 1-2 hours of some other products. It is also extremely economical to use. All in all, I was extremely impressed and shall recommend it highly.

Many thanks for all your help and best regards

Just wanted to tell you how pleased I am with your "H2OK" product. As we were away for 1.5 months I thought it may be a good time to use it. It is a very easy and convenient product to use and "WOW" what a difference in the taste of the water as well. I will certainly use again and will not hesitate to recommend it to anyone. Thank you for recommending H2OK.

Dear Friends at Pristine:

We would like to thank you for the fantastic gift of two super cartons of your product. We have sent hundreds if not thousands of students out in the field with Pristine to treat their water with.

Over the years we have used bleach, iodine, boiling and filters. All manners of water purification and nothing has even come close to the performance of your product.

It is compact to carry, never breaks, never needs cleaning, leaves very little (if any) taste and best of all doesn’t poison us in the process of trying to protect us. We have used it on backpacking trips on the coast of Lake Superior, Sea kayak trips on Georgian Bay, and hundreds of canoe trips around Ontario and Quebec.

It is simple to use and a great piece of mind to have when we’re out there.

Thanks again,

From all of us here at
Outward Bound Canada

"We purchased the product I would guess in around Feb. 2003. It was recommended to us by a travel nurse here is Missoula before a trip to Costa Rica. We have now completely stopped even taking our water filter backpacking. We love it! You can treat so much water with one set of bottles we have not used it up! "

Pristine Water Treamtment System Testimonial

"From February 2004 to January 2005, we traveled as backpackers through Thailand, Cambodia, Bangladesh, India and Nepal. Using a supply of Pristine Water Purification System that we had purchased before our trip, we drank the local water every day in whichever part of these countries we found ourselves. From the tropical islands of south Thailand to grungy tea shops and isolated train stations of north India, from mountain streams as we trekked through the Himalayas, to the bathroom tap water in big cities like Bangkok, Dhaka, Delhi, Varanasi and Kathmandu, if the water looked clear, not cloudy, we purified it with Pristine and drank it all, and we are both completely satisfied with the results. Yes, there are some drawbacks with purifying your own water:

    1. You have to be organized, ready and willing to plan ahead (both for each day's water needs, as well as the whole trip in advance)
    2. You have to give up the pleasures of drinking refrigerated water.

But to our minds, the benefits of using this system of water purification far outweigh these minor inconveniences. First, the cost of each liter of drinking water purified with the Pristine system is actually much cheaper than buying bottled water (typically, a liter of bottled water costs 30 to 40 cents Canadian in India and Nepal, though it can be as high as double that in some restaurants or less than half that in parts of Thailand). Second, in our experiences the Pristine system works perfectly, so you can be certain of the safety of your drinking water (not always the case with bottled water). However, the third and most important reason for purifying your water this way is the enormous reduction in the amount of plastic garbage that you produce. Everywhere you travel in these countries, even in remote mountain areas, you see empty water bottles littering the ground, sometimes huge piles of them. These plastic bottles are not recycled in India or Nepal, no matter that the bottles come with a recycling symbol on them. If we had not purified our own water, we would have left behind well over 1000 empty plastic bottles during our year of travel…

For us, the cost savings and, of course, the effectiveness of the product are important reasons to use Pristine, but it is the undeniable benefit to the environment which moves us to submit this testimonial. We urge all travelers to these areas to make the extra effort to plan ahead and purify the local water rather than buy bottled water. You'll save money. You'll stay healthy. You'll help save our planet."

Testimonial From Boy Scouts Troop 335

"...BSA Troop 335 wants to once again thank Pristine/Advance Chemicals for making our recent summer High Adventure Trip a health and successful one.

This past July we had 24 Boy Scouts and adult leaders spend 7 days in remote areas of the Boundary Waters Canoe Area as 3 separate crews. Many days we spent in areas heavily populated with beaver and deer. We had no problems and found Pristine easy and practical to use..."

testimonial from boy scouts troop

"In preparing for our 20 day trek through the Himalayas (Everest Base Camp and Gokyo Lakes), we did exhaustive research to find the best quality water purification system currently available. It had to be effective against all common pathogens, including Giardia and Cryptosporidium, simple to use and very light and compact. Being tasteless and odorless was a high priority, too, as high altitude trekking requires a high rate of water consumption, so the nicer the water tastes, the better.

Pumps and filters are bulky, expensive and make water purification a very time consuming process, so they were discarded as an option. After a hard day on the trail, the last thing you feel like doing is pumping water through a filter. On the trek, people with pumps and filters were first to show interest in what we were using for our water treatment system!

Bottled water is an expensive option, especially at high altitude. There is no recycling program in place in the Everest region, so the use of bottled water is not environmentally sound.

Relying on a supply of boiled water is a risk as you cannot always ensure that the water supplied by a tea house or lodge has been properly boiled.

Sometimes, they even run out of boiled water! Also, boiled water is not a viable option if you require water from rivers or streams while on the trail.

Pristine water treatment having met all of our criteria was selected as our one and only water purification system for the trek and it performed flawlessly. We highly recommend Pristine to any traveler requiring a highly effective, compact and easy to use water purification system."

Pristine Filter Bottles

"For the past couple years, while researching our hiking guidebooks, Kathy and I have relied on Pristine water purification droplets to ensure our drinking water is safe. It’s the lightest, most compact, most trustworthy method we know of. But Pristine has another product that we use when we want even greater convenience: Pristine filter bottles.

You simple screw off the top, scoop water into the bottle, screw the top back on, and drink. That’s it. No mixing, no waiting. You can slake your thirst instantly. The bottle contains a microbiological filter that removes 99.9% of Giardia and Cryptosporidium cysts. And the top has a flip-open cover that keeps the spout clean. We think it works great and find it especially useful when dayhiking.

We highly recommend both Pristine purification droplets and the Pristine filter bottle. To learn more about them, visit www.pristine.ca."
